On page 68 of CHESS, February 1943 the following appeared:

‘Several readers, including the author himself, have pointed out that the “Green Idol” in Lord Dunsany’s story in last month’s CHESS could not have mated in two had Black, from the diagrammed position, moved 1...K-R1 and 2...Kt-Kt1. Replace the black knight by a black pawn, and all is well.’
